You might remember our post in November about University of Waterloo's Artificial Intelligence contest – a program conceived and executed by one of our Google Student Ambassadors, Jeff Cameron.

We are happy to announce Jeff's latest work: the 2010 AI Challenge, an artificial intelligence competition run by students for students!

In this Challenge, you will learn the basics of how to write a game-playing program which plays Tron (aka light cycles). You can submit your code online to watch it play against entries by other students from around the world. The global rankings, as well as the leaderboard for each school, are updated in real time.

For more information, visit the contest website at www.ai-contest.com. There are plenty of videos and tutorials to help you get started even if you're a beginning programmer.

Many schools and students from across the globe have already signed up, and we hope you will, too!
