Shooting for three: Keeping up with the Madness

My favorite time of year – March Madness – is here again! And to keep up with the action this year, some of my fellow basketball fans here at Google and I have teamed up to create a page where you can use Google tools to help you track your favorite teams. At google.com/collegebasketball2010 you’ll find:

An iGoogle gadget to give you up-to-date information on schedules and scores
A Google docs tournament bracket template to help you create and manage your bracket in an online spreadsheet
Live scores by searching for your favorite teams
Real time search results for the latest news and chatter about the tournament

I've also made my third consecutive journey into mapping the NCAA College Basketball tournament, so check out this map, which shows you all the major locations for the tournament:

There's also the Google Earth KMZ file that includes the home arenas and 14 tournament venues. You can even take a tour of the 14 arenas in the “3D Buildings” layer in Google Earth by watching the video below (or you can download this kml tour and open it in Google Earth 5.)

Hopefully these tools help you to keep your head in the game, and enjoy the Madness!
